Snapshot is a small device that plugs into your car’s ODB-II port. It turns on every time you turn on the engine in your car. Once Snapshot installs, it records your driving habits whenever you’re behind the wheel. It then uses what it learns from your driving to determine if you should be paying less for car insurance. Snapshot is a great way for people to save money. All you have to do is drive smart.

Progressive Mutual Insurance Company was started in Ohio in 1937 by two lawyers, Joseph Lewis and Jack Green. Within only a few years of opening the business, they had already begun to change the insurance industry. A couple of cases in point: Progressive was the first to offer drive-in claims service and premium payment plans.
In the 1970s, Progressive went through a number of big changes. In 1971, the company went public. In 1974, it moved its home office to Mayfield Village in the suburbs of Cleveland. In the 1990s, Progressive was the first major insurer to launch a website. Something that didn’t change in all that time was its leadership. Specifically, it stayed in Lewis’ family until 2000, when Glenn Genwick became CEO. In 2016, current CEO and President Tricia Griffith took over the role.
Today, Progressive is best known for its commercials, featuring iconic spokeswoman Flo. The company also has naming rights to Progressive Stadium, where the Cleveland Indians baseball team calls home.
Progressive asks that you to file vehicle claims by either logging into your account or calling its 1-800 number. After speaking with a representative, a claims agent will contact you to further assess the damages. Progressive then inspects the vehicle itself and provides an estimate for the needed repairs. Once your vehicle is being repaired, Progressive checks on it often to ensure the process is going smoothly. If you use Progressive Service Centers, you'll be guaranteed repairs as long as you own or leases the car.
