History

Esurance was founded in 1999 in San Francisco, California, just in time for the start of the age of technology. It became of of the first insurance companies to directly sell policies to consumers over the Internet. In 2004, the company became one of the first to sell insurance packages to same-sex couples, and in 2011, it was bought by Allstate Insurance.

The Esurance claims process emphasizes documenting all the details of the auto accident. Providing the company with as much information as possible will make the claims process that much easier.

After filing your claim, a claims representative will be assigned to you and contact you within 24 hours of your incident. From there, you’ll schedule a vehicle inspection and the representative will then assess the damages and provide an estimate.

The repair and recovery process has many different options with Esurance. You can take your vehicle to any repair shop or allow Esurance to find you a nearby E-star shop. E-star shops are part of Esurance’s nationwide network of repair facilities. Esurance can also help you rent a car if you have rental car coverage included on your insurance policy.
